Triptii Dimri Replaces Deepika Padukone in Prabhas-Starrer Spirit Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Triptii Dimri has officially replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead in the upcoming film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas. The announcement was made on May 24, 2025, by the filmmaker on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Deepika Padukone was initially cast for the role but reportedly exited the project due to disagreements over contractual terms, including work hours and remuneration. Following her departure, Triptii Dimri was brought on board. Triptii, known for her performances in films like Bulbbul, Qala, and Animal, expressed her gratitude on social media, stating:
“Still sinking in… So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… honoured to be a part of your vision.”
Spirit marks the first on-screen collaboration between Triptii Dimri and Prabhas. The film is currently in pre-production and is expected to commence shooting in 2025.
