
CBSE Supplementary Exams 2025: Applications Open for Classes 10th, 12th Private Students Today
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially opened the registration window for the 2025 supplementary examinations for Classes 10 and 12 private candidates starting May 30, 2025. This opportunity is crucial for students who could not clear their board exams or wish to improve their scores.
Important Dates and Deadlines
- Application Start Date: May 30, 2025
- Last Date to Apply Without Late Fee: June 17, 2025
- Last Date to Apply With Late Fee (Rs 2000): June 19, 2025
- Supplementary Exams Start Date: July 15, 2025
No applications will be accepted after June 17, 2025, under any circumstances, whether online or offline, and with or without a late fee.
Who Can Apply?
- Private candidates of Classes 10 and 12 who appeared in the 2025 board exams and have been declared under the ‘compartment’ category in one or more subjects.
- Students who have passed but want to improve their marks can also register for the supplementary exams.
- Regular students must apply through their respective schools, while private candidates can apply directly on the CBSE website.
Exam Details
- Class 10 students can appear for supplementary exams in up to two subjects.
- Class 12 students can apply for improvement in one subject only.
- The supplementary exams for both classes will commence on July 15, 2025.
- The detailed date sheet will be released by CBSE closer to the exam dates.
Application Process for Private Candidates
- Â Visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in or cbse.nic.in.
- Navigate to the “Private Candidate Supplementary Examination 2025” section.
- Enter your login credentials and select the subject(s) for which you want to reappear or improve.
- Upload the required documents, including a recent photograph.
- Pay the prescribed application fee through digital payment modes (debit card, credit card, net banking).
- Â Download and save the acknowledgement slip for future reference.
Fee Structure
- The application fee for private candidates in India is INR 300 per subject.
- For private candidates in Nepal, the fee is INR 1,000 per subject.
- For private candidates outside India, the fee is INR 2,000 per subject.
- Late fee of INR 2,000 applies if payment is made after June 17, 2025.
Additional Information
- Admit cards for supplementary exams will be made available soon after registration closes.
- Any discrepancies in admit cards or registration details should be reported immediately to the Regional Office of CBSE.
- Regular candidates must coordinate with their schools for supplementary exam registration.
