Dead Rails May 2025 Update: New Classes, Trains & Game Mechanics

The May 2025 update for Dead Rails, the popular survival game on Roblox, introduces a wealth of new content and gameplay mechanics that enhance the player experience. From innovative classes to revamped train systems, this update offers both fresh challenges and opportunities for players.

New Classes and Combat Mechanics

A standout addition is the Milkman class, which brings unique gameplay dynamics. Accompanying this is a new melee combat system that removes cooldowns, encouraging players to charge attacks for increased damage. Horse carts can be attached to horses, and unicorns now offer faster travel speeds.
Upon death, a player’s inventory is stored in a crate, giving others a chance to loot or retrieve lost items.

Update Content:

Train classes! There are three to start, Gold Rush, Cattle Car, and Armored
Players can now gift classes to other players in their lobby
Players now have the ability to drop money in $10 intervals
New bank building at Sterling, find the code to unlock and get the loot
When players die, their inventory gets put into a crate that can be auto-equipped once you are revived. Other players can still open it as usual
Players can now use the turrets at safe zones
Got rid of auto turrets and made it so safe zones are occupied by actual soldiers
New bullet system, bullets do less damage the further they travel, can pierce soft objects like wood and paper, meaning no more newspaper strat
Zombies target outlaws, and outlaws target zombies
Lobby QoL changes, if a squad is full, the timer will go faster, new UI
New outfits for outlaws and vampires

Dead Rails Updates Version 0.14.0

Update Content:

New melee system, melee weapons can be charged in order to do a heavy attack,
New liquid system, glass bottles will spawn around the map containing liquid, these liquids can be poured into puddles. Players and NPCs can be covered in each liquid, some give special effects. The new liquids are water, milk, kerosene, blood, zombie blood, and unicorn blood. Glass bottles can be used to collect liquids as well,
Potion creation: Potions can be created by mixing puddles. Unicorn blood is the base of all the potions. I don’t want to spoil too much, but as an example, you can create holy water by pouring water on to a puddle of unicorn blood. There are 4 potions in the game that can be created, each one is super OP so if you kill a unicorn make sure to collect it’s blood.
Holy water and molotovs were reworked to use the new liquids system. Meaning molotovs now spawn physical puddles of kerosene and fire.,
Players can now be set on fire and take fire damage. Players (or NPCs) covered in kerosene will burn longer.,
10% chance it will rain during a day, 0.5% it will rain a non-water liquid (kerosene, blood, milk, unicorn blood).,
Since unicorns are rare, you can create unicorn blood by striking any puddle with lightning, but it will cut the quantity in half,
NPCs will leave puddles of blood upon death, these puddles can be collected via glass bottles,
Arsonist was changed so that instead of doing 2x damage, users of this class are now immune to fire,
New mode, Scorched Earth. During the day it rains kerosene, enemies have a 25% of spawning on fire and being immune to it, meaning they can set you on fire by hitting you. At night, flaming running zombies will spawn. Classes are not allowed for this mode since the new arsonist class would negate everything. Complete it to complete the new scorched earth challenge.,

New class, the Milkman. The more you are covered in milk, the more powerful you will become…,

This update may be a surprise to many, but I promise it give you a lot more freedom. Here are some examples of things you can do with the liquids:

Cover an object in kerosene, light it on fire, and throw it at an enemy to set them on fire
Make a large puddle of kerosene, lead a horde of zombies through it, then set them on fire
Mix liquids to create potions that cover large area in fire, resurrect dead enemies, and heal players instantly
Resurrect a werewolf and set them on fire, in order for them to do fire damage to enemies
Cover yourself in a nonflammable liquid in order to move across fire without being burnt

Upcoming Features and Leaks

Looking ahead, leaks suggest the introduction of the Bond Hunter class, which will specialize in collecting bonds for upgrades. A train repair system is also anticipated, requiring players to maintain their trains during long journeys. Additionally, the discovery of dinosaur-related files hints at potential prehistoric events or themed game modes.
